When pets ears look dirty inside, they scratch their ears often,
shake their heads occasionally looking like they want to
shake the mites loose--these are all symptoms of ear mites.
The wax is dark in color. Carefully remove some of the wax from
the cat's or dog's ear with a cotton swab. Smell the cat's or dog's ear.
If it smells of a strong odor, this denotes bacteria and yeast.
Consult a veterinarian. Ear Mites multiply very quickly once they
infest the ear and other animals can get infected.
Be sure to properly restrain the cat or dog. Clean the
pet's ear once a week.
