Toxocara larvae migrate to the human eye causing inflammation or damage to the retina, vision loss usually affects only one eye. Toxocara larvae migrate to various human body organs, such as the liver or central nervous system.
Symptoms to look for, fever, fatigue, coughing, wheezing and abdominal pain. Toxocara is not spread from one person to another. Be very careful if you have young children that play in the dirt that is contaminated with dog or cat feces.
