The cat can be producing excessive tears by the shape of the eye or inflammation, infection, allergies, viral conjunctivitis, swelling it could also be a hair, tumor, scratch, injured or blocked tear ducts. Some cats genetically produce more tears if this is the case the cat is ok do check with your vet. Wipe under the eye to keep it dry and clean. If you notice your cat pawing, rubbing, squinting, discharge, from the nose and the eye go to see the vet. Remember cats like to hide their symptoms.
If the vet gives you medication to administer be sure not to let the tip touch the eye.
Do not use human eye drops on your cat because it could damage your cat's eye.
